Our Story.

"Wonder is the beginning of wisdom” Socrates

Like all good ideas, The Wondering Mind began with imagination and passion. After locating a small retail space in The Settlement, a historic location in the village of Milton NSW, we opened our doors in September 2019. Surviving through bushfires and a pandemic, in March 2025 we re-located to our beautiful new space in The Shed a renovated former stables.

Our Books…

At The Wondering Mind our aim is to provide a unique, curated selection of new and pre-loved books in a space that celebrates the indulgent delight of browsing and discovering.

Saving books from landfill...

80-90% of our books are pre-owned and carefully selected from charity shops and book fairs, primarily Lifeline. Since opening we have donated over $120,000 to these vital organisations. By purchasing from us you are helping to support the essential services they provide.

Our Greeting Cards…

The majority of our cards are sourced locally and through RedBubble, an Australian business that connects artists and designers with their fans across the globe.

Our Art…

Our art includes original creations by local artists and selected prints. All works are framed locally by Darren from Milton Framing Service.

Former teachers, Michael & Julie Ramsden, are the proud owners of The Wondering Mind.
